Summary: The Chinese drama is adapted from Sunness’ novel of the same name. It tells the story of criminal policeman Zhao Yi Chen and six-month pregnant wife Hu Jia Ying who suddenly disappears and leaves an 11-second distress call.

Plot Synopsis:

Eight years ago, Hu Jia Ying, the wife of Nanjiang Interpol Captain Zhao Yi Chen, disappears while pregnant. She leaves behind only an 11-second recording.

Eight years later, Zhao Yi Chen receives anonymous clues and finds his daughter who suffers from aphasia in Xu’s family in Xiguan City. At the same time, he receives news that his wife had passed away a year ago.

Turns out, Hu Jia Ying, who was born in poverty and whose parents died early, is actually Xu Han, the eldest daughter of Xiguan tycoon Xu Yun Fei.

Xu Han also has an identical twin sister, Xu Lian, whose voice and looks are very similar.

The reasons for Xu Han’s death are full of loopholes, but the police have yet to find key evidence.

At the same time, the criminal gangs that Zhao Yi Chen had pursued for many years gradually resurface. They abduct human beings, sell drugs, and set up casinos, and they are inextricably linked to the Xu family headed by Xu Lian.

In the heavy fog, lies and truth become intertwined. Behind the eleven-second alarm call, justice will eventually reappear under the sun.

Wan Qian 万茜 as Xu Han / Hu Jia Ying 许菡/胡珈瑛
She lost her parents since childhood, and she and her twin sister become criminal tools after being adopted by rich man Xu Yun Fei. After escaping from the criminal group and renaming herself as “Hu Jia Ying”, she is admitted to university and meets Zhao Yi Chen. She falls in love, and feels the light and warmth of a long-lost life. But when she tries to remedy the mistakes she made in the past, she realizes that she had never freed herself from the shackles of fate.

Wan Qian 万茜 as Xu Lian 许涟
Adopted along with her sister Xu Han as a daughter of the Xu family. When she tried to escape, she was caught by Xu Yun Fei. She looks very similar to Xu Han, but because of her sister’s abandonment since childhood, she has extremely complicated emotions towards Xu Han. Xu Lian grows up with Yang Qian since childhood, and has a deep trust in him.

Shi Zhao Qi 石兆琪 as Zeng Jing Yuan 曾景元
The leader of the underworld organization in Nanjiang City. He is cruel and vicious, sinister and cunning. He trafficks human beings, uses minors to transports drugs, and opens an underground casino. Jing Yuan is one of the reasons for Hu Jia Ying’s disappearance.
