Summary: The Chinese drama follows Zhu Di, the fourth son of Ming Taizu Zhu Yuan Zhang, who has been on the battlegrounds since he was young. After going through battles, he finally grows into a qualified military commander and a mature statesman, and achieves great things.

Plot Synopsis:

Zhu Di, the fourth son of the founding emperor of Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuan Zhang, follows Marshal Xu Da in his youth.
After bloodshed and battle, he finally grows into a qualified military commander.

During this period, through the experience and baptism of court battles and changes in the palace, Zhu Di gradually grows into a mature statesman. With the support of his wife, family and followers, he is stationed in Beiping and vows to guard the northern border for the Ming Dynasty.

After the death of Taizu, the successor Jianwen Emperor Zhu Yun Wen, under the bewitchment of his mother’s family and Qi Tai and others, agrees to cut down the vassal, and aims the butcher’s knife at Zhu Di and his family.

In anger, Zhu Di finally puts down the hesitation in his heart, raises the banner of Fengtian Jingnan, and launches a war against the Jianwen party, which posesses all the resources of the entire empire. On July 13, 1402, they capture the imperial capital Yingtian (now Nanjing, Jiangsu).

Zhu Di ascends to the throne, changes the period to be Yuan Yong Le. Zhu Di reigns for 22 years, during which he mobilizes his army to recover the homeland of Annan, sends seven voyages to the West, five expeditions to Mobei, creates the ceremony of repair and governance, and moves the capital to Peiping. His era of reign is know as the “The Prosperity of Yongle”.
