Summary: The Chinese drama is adapted from Zhi Zhi’s novel “Mu Nan Zhi”. It tells the inspirational story of Jiang Bao Ning, the princess of Jianan County, and Li Qian, a guard of the Imperial Army, who fall in love with each other despite their differences and jointly protect their home and country.

Plot Synopsis:

Jiang Bao Ning, the princess of Jianan County, grows up in the palace since childhood. She remains carefree despite knowing that there is no freedom within the palace walls, and does not want to be used as a puppet.

Thus, relying on her own ingenuity, she resists the fate of becoming a tool in the inner palace fighting.

Li Qian, a guard of the Imperial Army, wants to understand a truth behind some events many years ago. He works hard to seek a higher position in the palace, just to get relevant clues.

They are two people with vastly different personalities who meet by chance and love each other. In order to reverse their own destiny, they work together, look forward to breaking through the barriers of identity and stay with their loved ones for a lifetime.

Ju Jing Yi 鞠婧祎 as Jiang Bao Ning 姜保宁
Princess of Jianan County, she is intelligent and noble, independent and courageous, loves fiercely. She knows that her destiny must be controlled by herself, and she has the courage to pursue true love and a free marriage. In the face of difficulties and ups and downs, Jiang Bao Ning never loses her kindness and justice and pushes through adversity. Though she sometimes shows a weak side to her, she has Li Qian who stays by her side and supports her.

Ceng Shun Xi 曾舜晞 as Li Qian 李谦
Full of perseverance and restraint, he takes responsibility for the sake of the country and the people. He is also willing to give up his ambition to compete for her. They respect and love each other, are affectionate and committed to one another. In the end, he not only reaps love and happiness, but also works with his lover to protect his family and the people, and finally succeeds in guarding peace for the world.
