- Xiao Zhou and Gui Chen talk. She will head to Chu Wei and he will go to Qing Zhou. She wonders if they’ll meet again and he promises he will find her no matter how far apart they are.
- Ning Qin asks for Gui Chen to head to Di Du. Xiao Zhou and her mother disagree. He threatens Chu Guo with Di Du soldiers.
- Ning Qin tells Xiao Zhou she should go to Xia Tang to protect Gui Chen. He will also go to ensure her safety.
- Gui Chen leaves for Qing Zhou. Xiao Zhou cries as she says goodbye. Xiao Zhou leaves a letter for her mother and Bai Yi, and heads to Xia Tang.
- The grand princess gives Bai Li Jing Hong the Fang Bo title. He replaces the cowardly advisors with better ones (his own). He heads back home to capture Xiao Zhou.
- Yu Yi arrives to Qing Zhou. She sees the dead trees and land. She meets Bo Min Ke (the Bird King). He’s angry how non-flying bird people could never become officials or enter the palace. He’s cut off the wings and sentenced the flyers to death.
UPDATE: I’ve Stopped Watching the Series
I’m sorry fellow Novoland: Eagle Flag fans and watchers, but I’ve decided to give up on this series. It’s tough for me to give up on a series because I always try to finish it to the very end, and I usually try to stick it through a series even if it gets worse and worse. I really can’t bring myself to finish Novoland to the very end. I watched a few of the trailers and I’ve watched the last episode, but I’m fine with missing out on Episodes 45-55.
To be honest, the series just wasn’t doing it for me. I think the first 10 episodes were amazing and action packed, as we were introduced to Gui Chen and his storyline but as the drama progressed, it just got messy. There was always the battle between Tian Qu and Chen Yue and the usual power struggle between the different kingdoms but nothing enticed me. Most of the time there was too much talk, too little action, and the plot moved too slow. Somewhere halfway through the series the action picks up again, when Ji Ye gets banished and becomes a Yi soldier. I felt the battle between the Five Kingdoms and Yi was amazing to watch.
Episode 44 and Onwards
Episode 44 and onwards, I had zero interest in the story of the Bird Tribe. From the short clips I see, Yu Ran is Ji Wu Shen. Her aunt is power hungry and marries to rule, killing her fiancé and then wanting to kill Gui Chen. Yu Ran is forced to kill her aunt to save the people. Tian Zhan dies protecting her. She gives up love as Ji Wu Shen and parts ways with Ji Ye.
I’m pretty mad at this series and how it got progressively worse. The smarter thing would have been to quit after 10 episodes in, and not waste my time on it. Every character took their rightful role in the kingdom but no one ended up truly happy. After the Bird Tribe story ended, Gui Chen heads back to Qing Yang, as it’s a mess. His father has died and his brothers fight for the throne. Even after skipping 10+ episodes and only watching the finale, I was still able to get the gist of what they were talking about.
