- Rui Ning suggests Ye Lin as her mom’s apprentice. She reluctantly agrees. Shen Zhen ignores Rui Ning.
- Ye Miao and Ye Lin chat at home. Their dad is too busy to come home and their mom is sullen by this news.
- The next day Ye Lin and Ye Miao come over. They see Shen Zhen. Rui Ning plays the violin to get Ye Lin to remember. But, it was actually Ye Miao who was her childhood violin friend!
- Ye Lin chats with Ning Mo (Rui Ning’s mom). He gives her back her painting along with the pigment to restore it. Ning Mo tells Ye Lin he still must go through the examinations to enter Qing Rui Studio. She gets him to restore the painting.
- Ye Miao realizes Rui Ning thought it was Ye Lin who played the violin, not him. He absentmindedly draws her.
- Rui Ning and Shen Zhen talk. Shen Zhen sees Ye Miao’s drawing and rips it apart.
- Classes begin. Rui Ning and Shen Zhen are roommates. Everyone is distracted during class.
- The next morning, Ye Lin sees Shen Zhen during his run.
