Plot Synoposis:
During the Zhenguan years, Ran Yan, the daughter of an upperclass businessman in Suzhou, is not favoured in the family due to the early death of her biological mother. As a result, her stepmother Lady Gao and her half-sisters consistently target her.
In order to find out the truth behind the death of her biological mother, Ran Yan learned how to conduct post-mortem examinations from an early age. Ran Yan leaves home after her stepmother forces her to marry.
When she escaped from marriage, she met Minister Xiao Song from the Ministry of Justice. Ran Yan impresses Xiao Song with her post-mortem skills. Together, they helped solve the case to find the Sui Dynasty treasure.
The duo made for an amazing team. One is an odd examiner that does not follow common sense, and the other is a master investigator who surprises those that underestimate him. From Suzhou to Changan the duo travels all over and cooperates to solve several cases and finds the missing Sui Dynasty Pearl.
Finally, when the world was at peace, Ran Yan and Xiao Song also found love.
