Fan Xian vs Cheng Ju Shu
- Fan Xian and Teng Zi Jing travel through Niu Lan Street. The two masked figures chase after them and shoot arrows. They kill both of them. The carriage gets shot down and Cheng Ju Shu ambushes them. Fan Xian and Teng Zi Jing fight back, but get injured badly.
- Fan Xian gets knocked down and Teng Zi Jing fights Cheng Ju Shu himself. He watches as Cheng Ju Shu flings Teng Zi Jing around. Teng Zi Jing finally falls and can’t get up. Fan Xian gets super angry and his “Ba Dao” technique explodes, knocking out Cheng Ju Shu. Fan Xian faints.
The Aftermath
- Fan Xian wakes and Wang Qi Nian is with him. He walks over to Teng Zi Jing, who’s already passed. Fan Xian wants to kill Cheng Ju Shu but Wang Qi Nian tells him keeping him alive is the only way to find out who was the mastermind behind the attack. The Overwatch Council will interrogate him.
- Fan Xian walks through the streets with a broken shoulder and leg. He tells Ruo Ruo they won’t be heading back to Dan Zhou.
- The Second Prince gets news of the attempted assassination. He knows they will suspect him, as Fan Xian was on the way to meet him. Si Li Li is unphased by the news.
- Fan Xian sits alone at home. Fan Jian talks with Fan Xian about who might have attempted the assassination.
- At night Fan Xian visits Wan Er. She comforts him and tells her about Teng Zi Jing’s story. She tells Fan Xian Teng Zi Jing thought of him as family and was willing to sacrifice himself for him. Fan Xian hugs her and cries.
- The Emperor questions the princes about the assassination. Both princes deny knowing about it.
Fan Xian’s Revenge
- Fan Xian sleeps in Wan Er’s arms until the morning. Ruo Ruo comes with news that the Council wants to let Cheng Ju Shu go. Zhu Ge, Director of the 1st Division of the Overwatch Council made the decision.
- Fan Xian finds Zhu Ge. Zhu Ge wants to let Cheng Ju Shu go for military tactic reasons. A Bei Qi general is willing to exchange intel on their military in exchange for Cheng Ju Shu’s safety. Fan Xian gets angry but Zhu Ge doesn’t budge on his decision.
- Fan Xian leaves. He asks Wang Qi Nian to find information on Cheng Ju Shu’s departure.
- Wang Qi Nian tells Fan Xian the Council is bringing Cheng Ju Shu out of the city through the North door.
- Fan Xian waits for Cheng Ju Shu in the city and tells Cheng Ju Shu he’s here to kill on, aggravating him.
