- Mrs. Lang vents at the servants and Miao Lan. Miao Lan leaves and runs into Hai Tang in the garden. Hai Tang helps her treat the wound on her face. She finds out that Miao Lan was married to Lang Yue Yuan, who died when he was 7.
- Hai Tang goes to help Mrs. Lang comb her hair. Mrs. Lang enjoys Hai Tang’s company and lets her stay.
- Xia He starts his first day at school and runs into trouble with the same girl.
- Hai Tang wanders around the garden and runs into Yue Xuan. He gives her a flower.
- Mrs. Lang tells Quan Shu to prepare a room and new clothes for Hai Tang. Miao Lan overhears her say she doesn’t want to see Miao Lan for a while.
- A masked figure scared Hai Tang. Someone puts something in her drink. Hai Tang drinks it and faints. The next day, she wakes and wonders if what happened was real or a dream.
- Yue Xuan talks with his sister, Qing Qing. A servant girl tells Hai Tang about the rouge ghost who lives on the west.
- Yue Xuan meets Hai Tang and brings her away from the house with the ghost.
The Dinner Gala
- Mo Hua comes and invites Hai Tang to go to the dinner gala with her. At the dinner, a man invites Hai Tang to dance with him. Yue Xuan dances with Mo Hua. Seeing that Hai Tang is uncomfortable, Yue Xuan saves her from her dance partner and slow dances with her.
- Yue Xuan and Hai Tang head home after. She wears his jacket.
- At night Hai Tang heads to the west house. The ghost hides from her.
