Plot Synopsis:
The recruits Gao Liang, who was born a child of a miner, and Gu Yi Ye, who was born in a military family, have very different backgrounds and extremely opposing personalities that make them constantly butt heads.
On the first day of their enlistment, they are thrown into the worst performing team in the entire division to train and begin their military career.
After going through confrontation, contest, war, and death, they are not only rivals and enemies, but also comrades who cherish each other and share life and death.
They experience major events such as war, the demining in Guangxi, stationing in Hong Kong, and floods in 1998.
They also experience the impact of a series of new military changes in the development and evolution of the army from motorization to mechanization to informatization.
At the same time, the relationship and family life of couples are full of twists and turns. The rough Gao Liang and the literary youth Jiang Nan Zheng; aristocratic Gu Yi Ye and the rural girl A Xiu, must overcome their different personalities and cultural backgrounds.
