Hi everyone! I’m Ash, the creator of C-Drama Love. I started this blog to document the Chinese dramas I watched, and love that I am able to share my love of c-dramas with you all! Here’s a bit more about me!
Intro
I’m Canadian, born and raised in Toronto. My parents immigrated from Hong Kong and I learned to speak Cantonese at home. My parents enrolled me in Mandarin school from Grade 1-10 but didn’t do so well in class. (I also never paid attention or put in any effort, which I hugely regret.) I’ve learned the majority of my Mandarin from watching TV dramas and reality shows, and am actively trying to improve my reading capabilities. When I’m not busy watching dramas, I’m travelling, eating, and at the gym.
Drama Interests
I started off watching TVB dramas, and slowly moved my way to Taiwanese dramas. My high school years consisted of watching Rainie Yang, F4, Joe Chen. I never really got into Mainland China dramas until halfway through university. One day, the TV was on and we flipped to a Chinese channel that was playing The Legend of Mi Yue (芈月传). Ever since then, I’ve been hooked. My foray into Mainland dramas began with historical dramas. I loved the elegance, grandness, and beautiful storytelling. Slowly, I began watching modern day dramas, and have grown a love for them as well. I also enjoy watching reality shows when I’m not interested in what’s currently airing.
Most Memorable Dramas of All Time
- The Untamed 陈情令
- Scarlet Heart 步步惊心
- Love O2O 微微一笑很倾城
- Eternal Love 三生三世十里桃花
- Put Your Head On My Shoulder 致我们暖暖的小时光
I want to list so many more but will try to keep the list short! These are most memorable to me so much so that I watched them at least twice! You can check out all the shows I’ve watched over the years here as well.
