- Xiao Xi watches a My Fair Princess kissing scene. Her dad walks in and she’s embarrassed.
- The class participates in a drama competition.
- Jing Xiao tells Xiao Xi Li Wei asked Jiang Chen to be her acting partner.
- Lu Yang and Xiao Xi try to get Jiang Chen to join their group. He declines.
- Xiao Xi continues to pester Jiang Chen with scripts. She falls asleep at her desk and Jiang Chen watches her.
- Jing Xiao pretends her foot hurts and goes to see Doctor Li. Xiao Xi overhears and Jing Xiao tells her about her crush.
Theatre Practice:
- The teacher puts Jing Xiao, Jiang Chen and Li Wei all in a group.
- At lunch Xiao Xi is sad Jiang Chen can’t be her “Er Kang”. Bo Song says he will. Jiang Chen leaves.
- Lu Yang says sooner or later Jing Xiao will be his “Xiao Yan Zi”. Lu Yang follows her to the doctor’s office.
- They practice their scripts. Lu Yang and Bo Song argue.
- Xiao Xi and Jiang Chen chat about which group will win the competition.
- Lu Yang’s dad runs into Jing Xiao at the gate and gives her Lu Yang’s medicine. She sees it’s heart medication.
- In class Jing Xiao helps Lu Yang practice his lines.
The Beginning of the Love Triangle:
- Xiao Xi and Bo Song visit Bo Song’s grandmother, who has dementia.
- Bo Song tells Xiao Xi about his family. He doesn’t have a good relationship with his father who forced him to swim since he was young.
- Xiao Xi runs into Jiang Chen in the lobby of their homes fixing his electricity. She tells him Bo Song dropped her off. The next dat at school Jiang Chen sees the two of them talking.
- In the library Jiang Chen goes up behind Xiao Xi and moves the book she wants further away.
- In class Xiao Xi, Bo Song, and Lu Yang reenact a scene from My Fair Princess and make it comedic. Jiang Chen’s group wins and will represent the class to the school.
- Jiang Chen sits with Xiao Xi. She tells him she wanted to win because she knew he didn’t want to participate.
The Day of the Play:
- The teacher assigns theatre logistics to others to support Jiang Chen’s group. Xiao Xi is in charge of sound effects.
- Backstage Xiao Xi watches Jiang Chen. She gets splashed with water.
- Xiao Xi gets a classmate to play her sound effects. They end up playing her confession to the entire theatre. Xiao Xi runs to stop it and falls onstage.
- After the play, Jiang Chen holds a shirt to give to Xiao Xi and sees her crying. Bo Song also comes. Jiang Chen sees she and Bo Song are wearing the same shirt. He says he’s ashamed of her and walks away.
